Tahune Adventures

A soaring treetop walk and wilderness playground where forest giants, rivers, suspension bridges and cable-glide thrills meet relaxed forest lodging. Escape into nature 90 minutes from Hobart.

Tahune Adventures

Tahune Adventures is a flagship nature destination deep in southern Tasmania’s wild forests, combining immersive treetop walks, exhilarating aerial thrills, and secluded lodging. Set among towering riverine forest near Geeveston, it offers both adventure and serenity for visitors coming from Franklin or further afield. Whether you’re stepping onto elevated pathways above forest giants or winding along suspension bridges over rushing rivers, Tahune delivers scenes and experiences you won’t forget.

What to Experience

The heart of Tahune Adventures is the Tahune AirWalk: a 600-metre elevated walkway high among the treetops, culminating in a dramatic cantilevered platform 50 metres above the bank of the Huon River. The views extend over where the Huon and Picton Rivers converge and into the peaks of the World Heritage wilderness. Two other curated walks– the Huon Pine Walk (an easy 20-minute loop) and the Swinging Bridges Track (about 3 km, crossing suspension bridges over the Huon and Picton Rivers)–let you explore riverbanks, forest giants, and rainforest understorey up close. For thrill-seekers, the Eagle Hang Glider cable-glide offers a rush through treetops and over river vistas, though only when weather allows.

Lodging, Food & Facilities

Tahune’s accommodation options run from cosy private cabins (suitable for up to four people) to a lodge with eight rooms that can house about 20 guests, plus camping options. The lodge has communal hub spaces (dining, kitchen, fireplace), free WiFi (in hub), fully supplied linen, and accessible rooms. The visitor centre & café is licensed and serves light meals, seasonal snacks, coffee and local produce; gift shop offers Huon pine souvenirs. Picnic shelters, BBQs and outdoor dining help you linger. Accessibility is well considered: there is wheelchair-suitable boardwalks on some walks, a shuttle-cart for those who need help with steps, and pet friendly policies (leads required).
